How to install
your eSIM?

2 minutes, no more. Install your eSIM before departure, comfortably on Wi-Fi — it only activates when you arrive in Japan. Follow the step-by-step guide.

Install the eSIM on your iPhone

Start the eSIM installation

Go to Settings → Cellular (or “Mobile Data”), then tap “Add Cellular Plan” or “Add Mobile Data Plan”.

Choose “Use QR Code”

On the “Set Up eSIM” screen, tap Use QR Code.

Scan the QR code

Use your iPhone camera to scan the QR code received by email. You can also save the QR code to your photos and import it from the photo album.

Activate your eSIM

Tap Continue — your iPhone installs the eSIM in a few seconds.

Label your eSIM

After scanning, give your eSIM a label to find it easily (e.g. “Japan”). Pick a default label or create your own.

Set the default line

On the “Default Line” page, select your eSIM for cellular data. Your usual SIM keeps calls and SMS — you keep your number and WhatsApp.

Finish the setup

Your new eSIM now appears in your cellular plan settings. It's installed!

Turn on data when you arrive in JapanEnable data roaming

Scroll to “Data Roaming” and turn it on. You'll be connected within seconds.

How to know your eSIM is active?

1Make sure you have at least one signal bar in the icon at the top of your iPhone.
2In Settings → Cellular, tap your eSIM and check that “Data Roaming” is on.

Open Settings → Connections

On your Samsung, open Settings and tap Connections.

Open SIM card manager

At the bottom of the list, tap SIM card manager.

Add a mobile plan

In the eSIMs section, tap Add mobile plan.

Scan the QR code

Choose Scan carrier QR code and scan the QR you received by email.

Turn on data when you arrive in JapanTurn on data roaming

In Mobile networks, enable Data roaming for your eSIM.

Tap SIMs

Tap SIMs (Add a network).

Download your eSIM

Tap Download a new eSIM, then scan the QR you received by email.

On your Xiaomi or Redmi, open Settings then Mobile networks.

Manage your eSIM

Enable Turn on eSIM if needed, then tap Manage eSIM.

Add your eSIM

Tap Add eSIM and scan the QR you received by email.

Turn on data when you arrive in JapanSet the eSIM for data + roaming

Set the eSIM as your Data SIM, then enable Data roaming.

Open your network settings

Depending on your brand (OnePlus, Oppo, Motorola…), open SettingsConnections or Network & internet.

Open the SIM manager

Tap SIM card manager (or “SIM cards & mobile networks”).

Add an eSIM plan

Tap Add mobile plan or “Add eSIM”.

Scan the QR code

Choose Scan QR code and scan the QR you received by email.

Turn on data when you arrive in JapanTurn on data roaming

In your eSIM's network settings, enable Data roaming.

Best practice: install before you leave, on Wi-Fi

Your plan only starts when you arrive in Japan. Also keep a copy of the QR code, printed or on another device.

⚠️ Never delete the eSIM from your phoneOnce installed, the eSIM cannot be reinstalled: deleting it means losing the profile for good. If anything goes wrong, contact us before doing anything.
